What if the birth of language was menstrual? Through the work of Chris Knight and Camilla Power, this talk raises questions on the birth of language through menstruation and poetry. Amy Bobeda explores the myth of the Wawilak Sisters and Cecilia Vicuña’s poetry in her collection The Read Thread, delving into mythopoetics, Duende, and the liminal space menstruation and poetry call home. We may even discover poetry as ritual art that makes us human and animal.
