The Music returns to Kai-as

We are thrilled to be hosting Prof Sian Sullivan at Radical Anthropology on Tues Feb 7, 6:30 pm

LIVE @UCLAnthropology and on ZOOM

Sian will present and discuss her film ‘The Music returns to Kai-as’ which is part of the community project ‘Future Pasts: Sustainabilities and cultural landscapes in West Namibia’

This work focuses on oral history research in a particular area of north-west Namibia. With Welhemina Suro Ganuses, Councillor for the Namidaman Traditional Authority, we worked mostly with families in a settlement called Sesfontein. They have formed a cultural group called the Hoanib Cultural Group, after the main ephemeral river that flows through the area in which they now live.
