Duncan Stibbard Hawkes is an evolutionary anthropologist at the University of Durham. He conducts field research with a Tanzanian population called the Hadza, who traditionally subsisted through hunting and gathering. His research has focussed on the motives underlying hunting, foraging, and food-sharing. He’s about to start a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship investigating the ecological factors underlying forager egalitarianism
